My solo adventure to Perhentian Island

By Rhodora

October 01, 2016

Perhentian island is reachable via Kuala Besut ferry terminal before going there you have to buy a roundtrip ticket first as there has no ticket outlet and the island.Take a roundtrip open ticket and in going back you have to tell the hotel or resorts where you are staying they are the one who will arrange the boat going back to the city of Kuala Besut. It takes 45minutes to an hour ride via speedboat with a minimum of 20 or more passengers. Based on my experienced they are not limiting the passengers as long as its fits on the boat, sometimes scary because not everytime ocean is in on good condition its very risky! The last time i was there it was windy rough seas and raining.

Perhentian has its long white sand beaches  With a crystal blue water. On the other side was a bit rocky white but really very fantastic.Overnight survival in the jungle was not easy. I stayed in a Rainforest Campsite but a bit bad because whole night raining and i get up wet! During night time you can hear different sounds of the jungle which was realy scary. I waited for a night that something might happen or open my tent but thanks to my creator his always there the time i needed him silently and to my loving palangga who was been around everytime thousands of miles away who guided me in all my way.Take note there was no electricity here they are just using generators between 7pm up to 11midnight so if you want to charge phone just go to the reception and ask might be helpful if you bring along with you a powerbank, flashlight during night time when you go to toilet and ofcourse a towel, a drinking water and a book good when your a book reader.

It’s a real adventure that really tested my personality in patience how to be alone travelling and survive in an island far away home. But it was a great accomplishment for myself as well on how to communicate other foreign companies in a campsite. It’s an advantage to gain knowledge from anyone with different races personality and culture😉. My loving Palangga taught me so much not all by myself but encouranged me how to be me reacted in a strange place.

Rainforest Campsite, Perhentian Island

If you want to experience the island walk all the way the jungle to other part takes an hour but amazing great views awaited you there. White sand blue water will surprise you worth to visit and if you are a nature lover try to visit Rainforest campsite with a lovely owner and a very good site for a couple. It was very peaceful calm and sounds of the seashore that touches the sands was very inviting. But for those who dont then try nearby cottages but one more i noticed prices in an island accomodation was really expensive than in the city.I had a great survival experienced on this campsite ever!😘
